You have chosen the best time of year to go! I went during that time in 2003. It is the time before it gets to hot but warm enough to do all summer activitys and YES you can wear shorts!

It's really the best time to go - winter is all gone, spring & summer is here, hot but not too hot, it's going to be 28 celcius (90 ferenhait something like that).

of course you can wear shorts in public, some men go without a shirt on the street too (but please don't do that..)

The weather is great! It's pefect beach weather, hot (but not too hot), a little bit humid, and constantly sunny. Shorts will be perfectly fine.
