Can anyone suggest a nice, relaxed hotel with 24h room service, wifi or net connectivity, easy access to Dead Sea? What are some cool places to visit/see?

I am currently living in Israel, but I prefer to cross the border into Jordan to go to the Marriott Dead Sea Resort and Spa. It has everything you need, it is right on the sea, and the spa is great! There are also many sites in the area, such as Madaba and Mt. Nebo (where it is said Moses saw the Promised Land and then died). On a clear day you can see Israel beautifully from this mountain.

If you don't have time or don't wish to cross the border, Israel also has some nice hotels, such as the Hyatt, but I usually only use this side for day trips, so I can't personally recommend anything.

Good luck and enjoy!

Hello,

(ANS) Blimey how the world changes, when I visited the dead sea in the late 1970's there literally were no! hotels at all. It was ALL just baking hot desert as far as the eye could see.

**NOTE: The Masada hill fort is definitely a MUST SEE place to visit, sunrise from the top of Masada is a very memorable experience too. They used to do a sola luminar light show at the bottom of Masada at night, also good.

**Nuwaba is a small desert oasis about 30 miles south of Eliate that was frequented by the local beddew people & their camels again back in the 70's. Its famous for its amazing close off shore coral reefs & world class scuba diving, although it can get extremely hot indeed.

I went there recently, in the winter so it was too cold to swim. But, there were several nice looking hotels, but the one I stayed at was Daniel Dead Sea Resort and Spa. It was very nice. Go to www.hotels-of-israel.com/fattal/golden_tulip.htm.

Le Meridian.

Go to Masada & Qumran; both very close.

From there, go into the Negev. Awesome!
