Why did Turkey break the International Law?

A long-awaited United Nations review of Israel’s 2010 raid on a Turkish-based flotilla in which nine passengers were killed has found that Israel’s naval blockade of Gaza is both legal and appropriate.
“Israel faces a real threat to its security from militant groups in Gaza,” the report says in its opening paragraphs. “The naval blockade was imposed as a legitimate security measure in order to prevent weapons from entering Gaza by sea and its implementation complied with the requirements of international law.”
The report is hard on the flotilla, asserting that it “acted recklessly in attempting to breach the naval blockade.” Turkey, who was the official sponsor of the flotilla, is of course hysterical because it makes Turkey and Erdogan personally responsible for the breach of the International Law and siding with the provocateurs and bandits.
The report, expected to be released Friday, also found that when Israeli commandos boarded the main ship, they faced “organized and violent resistance from a group of passengers” and were therefore required to use force for their own protection. But the report called the force “excessive and unreasonable,” saying that the loss of life was unacceptable and that the Israeli military’s later treatment of passengers was abusive.

Turkey is particularly upset by the conclusion that Israel’s naval blockade is in keeping with international law and that its forces have the right to stop Gaza-bound ships in international waters, which is what happened in the 2010 episode because it makes Turkey the easy target for the accusations of sidingwith the terrorists and of breaching the Intwernational Law, which, if Israel decides to sue Turkey, will mean Turkey will have to pay billions of dollars in compensation. Besides, it gives a serious blow to the international prestige of Turkey.

Who broke international law? Lets have alook again!

1- International waters cannot be controled by any country.

Israel attacked that filotilla in International waters!

2- Gaza and Gaza waters officially and legally not belong to Israel! Did you know that?

Despite that international reality Israel blocking everyting. However no one attack them from the sea! With funny reason Israel just torturing the people in Gaza!

3-Israle bombed beach and killed the kids. Bombed UN Ofice, bombed UN school and killed UN officers. Still not appologized!!!

I believe Turkey is right. Israel really need a wake up call as they breached all international laws. Non co-operative behaviour.

Israel since many years hidden behind of holocaust and did crimes. Sorry man I really dont care holocaust anymore. I was not there, even wasnt born anyway. Despite I am sorry but I am not responsible for that but you are responsible what you doing today! Beign holocaust victim does not give you right to kill innocent people, support terrorism against allies.

It costs nothing to apologise even if you are in the right. By refusing to apologise Israel has not only lost an ally but gained a formidable enemy right next door. What ever the rights or wrongs they did kill 8 Turkish and one American in international waters in a typical heavy handed manor .The day will come when Israel will deeply regret their actions on that ship.

because Turkey wanted to climb a tree that is too high for it - and fell of course.

Turkey wanted to become a leader of the Muslim world. The easiest card to play, in the opinion of Erdogan, was to attack Israel. Israel refused to serve as a ladder for Turkish ambitions. Now Turkey is making the threatening face and expels the Israeli Ambassador - who has been in Israel for the last 4 months before retiring, and Israel did not plan to appoint the new Ambassador in his place- and says it will end the military cooperation with Israel. This sounds really amusing because all the long- standing military cooperation programs between Israel and Turkey ended and Israel refused to continue them when eight months ago, Hakan Fidan, head of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization, MIT and an Erdogan trusty was ready to hand Iran all the classified data on Israel's weapons systems in Turkey's possession to help Tehran stand up to a potential Israeli strike against its nuclear facilities.

Honestly, Turkey today is a pitiful sight.

Israel has no respect for "International Law" if it does not rule in their favour

The Human Rights Council has passed more resolutions condemning Israel than it has all other states combined.

As they steadily gain control of the non Muslim world it will get worse

Muslims are so accustomed that they can do whatever they wish, then cry victims and the UN will side with them that Turkey hoped to get easy points in the Muslim world playing the"palestinian card". It was sure the UN would stand by its side in its confrontation with Israel and that is why Turkey behaved so arrogantly, demanding of Israel apologies, compensations and immediate stop of the "illegal blockade of Gaza". Now, when the UN made it clear that the main responsible side for what happened on Mavi Marmara is Turkey and that the naval blockade of Gaza is absolutely legal Turkey evidently does not know what to do. By inertia, it goes on demanding from Israel "apologies", although after the Report it is clear that this line has failed and that Israel has much more reasons to demand of Turkey apologies and compensations. Now Turkey is threatening to lower the level of the Israeli representation in Turkey from Ambassador to the Second Secretary of the Embassy.

And what? Israel reaction to this was quite indifferent: "Netanyahu has finally decided not to apologize before Turkey and after that any ultimatums by Turkey will not impress Israel", say the diplomatic sources in Jerusalem.
