It drives me nuts that people who are against Israel pick such arbitrary points to argue on.

Do all of Jews that are in Israel belong there? DOESN'T MATTER. They are there now, they aren't leaving, deal with it. Same with the Palestinians.

Zionism should end, the Jewish state should end, and everyone who lives there now should form a democratic state and decide their future together.

I spit on your piddly little talking points.

"if zionists are not the children of israel, and israel was made by zionists, that means it has no right to exist"

This statement makes no sense.

Perhaps you can explain it to us?

For the record, a Zionist is someone who follows Zionism. Zionism is a primarily secular political ideology. That being the case, you do not do yourself any service by confusing it with religious theology.

Update:

So, it seems to me that you are asking based on religious arguments. I might just note at this point that such arguments are valid only for those that are religious and who are Jewish or Christian. I might also just note that the totality of the "Zionist argument" is not "It says so in the Bible". Some anti Israel cranks like to claim that because it is then easier for them to subsequently dismiss it.

That being the case, all I'll point out is that most of what you say is incorrect. The Jews in Roman times did not "throw it" to the Roman empire. They kind of had no real choice in the matter. Secondly, the vast majority of Jews did not convert to early Christianity. At the time, it was a mere breakaway sect. It did not expand until gentiles started to convert en masse.

Now, it may be true that modern Israeli Jews came from Europe (or North Africa or elsewhere in the Middle East) but they are still Jews and for the most part are not descended from converts to Judaism (as other anti Israel cranks like to claim as well).

Yes the Israelis belong there. They got their first real start there. If you are for them you too are a Zionist as I am. What is Zion after all.

Zion

Sunny; height, one of the eminences on which Jerusalem was built. It was surrounded on all sides, except the north, by deep valleys, that of the Tyropoeon (q.v.) separating it from Moriah (q.v.), which it surpasses in height by 105 feet. It was the south-eastern hill of Jerusalem.

When David took it from the Jebusites (Jos 15:63; 2Sa 5:7) he built on it a citadel and a palace, and it became "the city of David" (1Ki 8:1; 2Ki 19:21, 31; 1Ch 11:5). In the later books of the Old Testament this name was sometimes used (Ps 87:2; Ps 149:2; Isa 33:14; Joel 2:1) to denote Jerusalem in general, and sometimes God's chosen Israel (Ps 51:18; Ps 87:5).

In the New Testament (See SION) it is used sometimes to denote the Church of God (Heb 12:22), and sometimes the heavenly city (Rev 14:1).

Most are from Russia. The Palestinian Jews are the real children of Israel. Palestinian as well as Mediterranean or Middle-Eastern Christians and Muslims could be descendants from them but converted. Yeah, like the children of Israel moved all the way up to Russia or Germany or Transylvania.

Israel is mentioned in the Jewish Bible approximately 700 times. There are different names given to Israel, and one of them is Zion. This is the origin of the word Zionism.

Although most Zionists are Jewish, many are Christians who support the Jewish people in their return to Israel, to Zion.

So as you can see, since Zion and Israel are names for the same place, and as the Bible shows it to be the Jewish homeland, the state of Israel certainly does have a right to exist exactly where it is!

A key element of Arab and anti-Zionist attacks on Israel is the notion that the Jewish presence in the country is a remnant of 19th century imperialism in which Europeans colonized and exploited parts of the third world. But far from being outsiders there, the Jewish ties date back 4,000 years to the very beginning of Jewish history recounted in the Bible and verified by much of the evidence of archeology that has been discovered.

Though the Romans expelled most of the Jewish population from the country, Jewish settlement continued without interruption throughout the last 2,000 years. In all this time, the Land of Israel remained a constant in thoughts and the hearts of Jews throughout the world, as it was remembered in their daily prayers and in their dreams.

No. The children of Israel dissapeared a long time ago, what nonsense!! I dare any one of you to challenge me and say that they are the children of Israel because only utter stupidity and deep ignorance would make you believe such a thing.

Children of Israel lol that was 3000 years ago, you lost your chance "chosen ones" and now its time to build a bridge and get over it!

.

I agree with Bills answer btw. Totally agree.

Get your facts right.

Israel is named after the Prophet Israel. Zionists refer to people who believe that there should be a Jewish State in Israel.

Jews are the children of Israel (the Prophet) and some of them are the inhabitants of Israel (the land).

The Jews/Israelis never threw their land to the Roman Empire. The Roman Empire invaded Israel and killed many, many Jews. However, Jews remained in Israel during and after Roman rule. During Roman rule, many Jews were forced to leave Israel in the Diaspora. But the Romans couldn't get rid of Judaism in Israel. Many of the descendants of some of the Jews that were forced to leave eventually moved back to Israel. Jesus came along during Roman rule and converted some, not all, Jews to Christianity. Later, the Roman Emperor Constantine converted to Christianity, and made Christianity popular throughout the entire Mediterranean World. During this time, the Jews still lived in Israel. After the Romans, the Byzantines (pretty much the Christian descendants of the Romans) ruled Israel. It wasn't until around 700 CE that Israel was ruled by Arabs. During that Arab rule, Arabs forcibly converted many Jews to Islam. However, they could not wipe out Judaism from Israel. The Arabs also forbid the Jews from rebuilding Solomon's Temple. Instead, they forced Jewish slaves to build the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock Shrine over the remains of the Jewish temple. Later, around 1100 CE, the Crusaders came and ruled for around 200 years. After that, the Egyptians ruled Israel. After them, the Ottoman Empire ruled Israel. Jews still lived in Israel. After the Ottomans, the British ruled. After the British, modern Israel was in power.

Throughout the rule of the Babylonians, Assyrians, Persians, Greeks, Macedonians, Ptolemaics (one of the successors of the Macedonians), Seleucids, Romans, Byzantines, the Caliphate, Crusaders, Mamluks (Egyptian), Ottomans, and the British. Not to mention several Jewish Kingdoms. I find it interesting to note that, throughout invasion after invasion for thousands of years, there wasn't a single "Palestinian" empire or kingdom that had ever ruled Israel.

The truth is that Jews have lived in Israel since the dawn of civilization. They still live there. In fact, the "Palestinians" are only Arabs who moved to Israel during either Caliphate rule, Egyptian rule, or Ottoman rule.

Not only have Jews lived in Israel for thousands of years, all Jews (around the world) have relation to Israel.

Get your facts straight before you make yourself look like an idiot.

There was a country called Israel long before there were countries called Jordan, Syria, America, England, Iran, Irag - and many others too numerous to mention.

Not all Israelis or all Jews are Zionists, not all Zionists are Israeli - or Jewish.

ok - this is just another one of these ranting posts that are really getting annoying...

i dont get it - do you think that if you use the word zionist instead of jews or israelis no one - jews especially will know what you are really trying to say ??

first of all - learn to tell the differance between a political movement - ie zionism that any one of any race or religion can belong to...

a faith - ie judaism

and the political actions of a recognised nation - ie Israel...

for gods sake - is it really THAT hard ??!!!!

and as for your messed up view of history... no - jews didnt give their land to the romans for hannukkah... the romans took it by force - as they did with many other countries in europe and the middle east...

Jews are A SEMITIC PEOPLE... we were forced to leave israel- the way that many of your beloved muslims and arabs are forced to leave their lands... but that doesnt mean that we lost our ties to it... when the time was right - we returned - simple as that...

tell me - if an afghan muslim is forced to leave his country because of war or invasion... does living in europe for some generations suddenly render him and all his children europeans ??

i bet you say no... its complete and utter double standards and bigotry... its old news already - weve heard it all before ...

You don't have to be Jewish, or a descendant of Israel to be a Zionist.

I don't think they are Arabs children.

They are different from Arabs and don't change every second name on the YA. Like you, who run out of names and don't have any...
