1. Good for health. The waters help rejuvenate the skin.

2. Visit the lowest point on the Earth's surface.

3. Float on the most naturally occurring saline waters. The Dead Sea has the highest concentration of salt in its water compared to other places on Earth.

4. To relax. There are a lot of spas nearby.

5. To support the Israeli or Jordanian economy, depending on what side you go on.

6. The Dead Sea is drying up. So you might as well see it before it could disappear!

7. To build a sandcastle on it's beaches (well, if nothing else, it's fun to do).

8. To buy products made from it to take with you (kinda like 5, except this is specific to the sea and not just all of the nation... and you might want to ignore that you can buy these products elsewhere too).

9. To use it as an excuse to drag friends or family members on a vacation. The dead sea is great for group activities.

10. To take interest in it's unique environment and the history surrounding it. Others mention Masada and Qumran, which are good places to visit too.

Here are some

1.The Dead Sea is the lowest point on Earth at some 420 metres below sea level. How low can you go on your next holiday?

2.If you like salt, you'll love it here. It's very salty, in fact, it's known in Hebrew as the Yam HaMelah (The Salt Sea). Just a word of warning: don't go in straight after shaving or waxing!

3.The high concentration of salts and minerals provides muds full of minerals to smother on tourist skin, the mineral springs to bathe in, and salty water to float in.

4.If you like it warm and sultry, you'll like the climate at the Dead Sea. It's pretty warm all year round though in the summer can get stifling (up to 40C), with very little rain to worry about.

5.There are a number of important historical sites in the area, including the fortress of Masada, the caves of Qumran and Mount Sdom.

6.If you're looking to get healthy and get those batteries recharged, then spend some time in the Dead Sea. You won't regret it.

Well all in all it's great fun

To float in it.

To soak in the waters believed to be healing.
