Hello,
I cannot verify your newspaper quotes (cuttings), however if you were to take the number of countries upon which the Nazis had set their sights for invasion and occupation, while also bearing in mind the Nazi attitude towards the Jews, it would be possible estimate a possible threat to Jews living in those threatened countries. (There would also have been a number of differing estimates of the numbers of Jews under threat, but the Asker chose not to mention those, and he can also spare us his "crocodile" tears.)
The estimate of Jewish casualties resulting from the Holocaust was made by the Allies at the end of the war.
The reader may find it interesting that anti-Semites choose to question the Holocaust or question the Holocaust by disputing its Jewish casualty figures, yet they do not question for example, other likewise well-documented facts like the Second World War!
Although due to anti-Jewish hatred, holocaust-deniers deny the holocaust despite the abundance of evidence to prove it, when the Nazi witnesses were giving evidence at the Nuremberg Trials, they did NOT deny the Holocaust. Rather, they simply matter-of-factly described all the details.
The Nazis were meticulous in keeping written records about the crimes against humanity they were committing, which were compiled by Nazi functionaries as they carried out their work. The majority of this abundance of paperwork-evidence was recovered by the Allies after the war:

You may not be surprised that the Nazis wrote their meticulous records in German! Translations of many documentary evidence are available, but for German speakers here is an example:

Germans Forced To View Nazi atrocities at Buchenwald Concentration Camp, Ettersberg, Germany, April 16, 1945:
The following film (of 2 minutes, 46 seconds duration) is free of charge to view - Just click its Start button located in the center of its screen; and I would also suggest you click its full-screen button. (The German civilians are seen starting at one minute, seven seconds into the video):

Why were many Nazis tried at Nuremberg willing to give all the details when asked, rather than denying it all? Many were functionaries proud of doing their job "well" (as they saw it), and in obeying orders with which they in any event agreed, while simply having no empathy for their victims.
The following extracts of evidence concern the Auschwitz concentration camp, but there were of course many other concentration camps.
The following extracts also describe the situation at Auschwitz up to 1 December 1943, and bear in mind that the war did not end until 1945.

EXTRACTS FROM the evidence of Rudolf Hoess:
Nuremberg Trial Proceedings Volume 11
ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTH DAY
Monday, 15 April 1946
Morning Session
THE PRESIDENT:
Stand up. Will you state your name?
RUDOLF FRANZ FERDINAND HOESS (Witness):
Rudolf Franz Ferdinand Hoess.
DR. KAUFFMANN:
Yes.
[Turning to the witness] From 1940 to 1943, you were the Commander of the camp at Auschwitz. Is that true?
HOESS:
Yes.
...
Dr. Kauffmann:
And after the arrival of the transports were the victims stripped of everything they had? Did they have to undress completely; did they have to surrender their valuables? Is that true?
Hoess:
Yes.
Dr. Kauffmann:
And then they immediately went to their death?
HOESS:
Yes.
...
Dr. Kauffmann:
And then, you told me the other day, that death by gassing set in within a period of 3 to 15 minutes. Is that correct?
HOESS:
Yes.
...
COL. AMEN:
I ask that the witness be shown Document 3868-PS, which will become Exhibit USA-819.
[The document was submitted to the witness.]
COL. AMEN:
You signed that affidavit voluntarily, Witness?
HOESS:
Yes.
COL. AMEN:
And the affidavit is true in all respects?
HOESS:
Yes.
COL. AMEN:
This, if the Tribunal please, we have in four languages.
[Turning to the witness.] Some of the matters covered in this affidavit you have already told us about in part, so I will omit some parts of the affidavit. If you will follow along with me as I read, please. Do you have a copy of the affidavit before you?
HOESS:
Yes.
COL. AMEN:
I will omit the first paragraph and start with Paragraph 2:
"I have been constantly associated with the administration of concentration camps since 1934, serving at Dachau until 1938; then as Adjutant in Sachsenhausen from 1938 to 1 May 1940, when I was appointed Commandant of Auschwitz.
I commanded Auschwitz until 1 December 1943, and estimate that at least 2,500,000 victims were executed and exterminated there by gassing and burning, and at least another half million succumbed to starvation and disease making a total dead of about 3,000,000.
This figure represents about 70 or 80 percent of all persons sent to Auschwitz as prisoners, the remainder having been selected and used for slave labor in the concentration camp industries; included among the executed and burned were approximately 20,000 Russian prisoners of war (previously screened out of prisoner-of-war cages by the Gestapo) who were delivered at Auschwitz in Wehrmacht transports operated by regular Wehrmacht officers and men.
The remainder of the total number of victims included about 100,000 German Jews, and great Numbers of citizens, mostly Jewish, from Holland, France, Belgium, Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Greece, or other countries. We executed about 400,000 Hungarian Jews alone at Auschwitz in the summer of 1944."
That is all true, Witness?
HOESS:
Yes, it is.

From the statement of Hans Stark, registrar of new arrivals, Auschwitz.
Quoted in "The Good Old Days" - E. Klee, W. Dressen, V. Riess, The Free Press, NY, 1988, p. 255:
“At another, later gassing--also in autumn 1941--Grabner* ordered me to pour Zyklon B into the opening because only one medical orderly had shown up. During a gassing Zyklon B had to be poured through both openings of the gas-chamber room at the same time. This gassing was also a transport of 200-250 Jews, once again men, women and children. As the Zyklon B--as already mentioned--was in granular form, it trickled down over the people as it was being poured in. They then started to cry out terribly for they now knew what was happening to them. I did not look through the opening because it had to be closed as soon as the Zyklon B had been poured in. After a few minutes there was silence. After some time had passed, it may have been ten to fifteen minutes, the gas chamber was opened. The dead lay higgledy-piggedly all over the place. It was a dreadful sight.”
* Maximillian Grabner, Head of Political Department, Auschwitz

Perhaps this documentary by Thames Television in the UK, will also be of assistance to those who may wish to learn about the Holocaust:

Additional:
I would also mention the Soviet casualties:

We must not forget the heroic contribution of the Red Army in fighting the Nazis, and the sacrifices of the Soviet / Russian population, made in World War 2 - the Soviet Great Patriotic War.
I hope this helps.
